TCS gets $11.5-m Uganda deal

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has won an $11.5-million
transformational deal to design, install and integrate a tax
administration system for the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

The new system will manage all domestic taxes and duties for the URA,
including income tax, value-added tax, withholding tax and other
excise duties, according to a news release issued by TCS here.

The new system is an integrated solution that will help URA scrutinise
the tax returns more effectively and improve compliance level by
having a single and integrated view of the taxpayer, in addition to
increased convenience for taxpayers.
